"Dear Mr Maki I hope this email finds you well. Firstly, thank you for travelling this challenging journey with me, it has not been easy but you made it manageable.
It is true that life is a journey and we learn everyday and sometimes the hard way. My financial situation led me to a corner of desperation and little thoughts creeped into my mind and I wanted a way out, not even knowing I was committing fraud.
When I submitted the fraudulent claim, at the back of my mind I knew it was wrong but because of desperation I did not see it as fraud, my main concern was finding a way out. When I was eventually called and the sergeant told me about the charges I could not believe it and I thought it was a prank.
The only thing on my mind was going to jail or getting a criminal record and my whole life came to a standstill.
